Initial Evaluation and Psychotherapy

Initial Visit – Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluation

60 minutes

  • In our first session, we’ll identify your treatment needs. This includes:
    • Outlining your previous and ongoing difficulties, past treatment experiences, social and life circumstances, and goals for continued treatment;
    • Obtaining a comprehensive personal, family medical, and psychiatric history;
    • Identifying possible diagnoses; and
    • Reviewing different treatment options.
  • We will begin to outline a comprehensive, personalized treatment plan which includes psychotherapy and possibly medications.
  • If additional information is warranted, I’ll ask for permission to contact previous providers, family members, etc., only with your signed consent.

Psychotherapy Treatment

45 minutes

  • Ongoing sessions typically occur on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. More frequent sessions are available if indicated.
    • We will address your issues and work toward achieving your goals during our sessions.
  • I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), with a focus on mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and other techniques as needed.

30 minutes

  • Ongoing sessions typically occur on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. More frequent sessions are available if indicated.
    • We will address your issues and work toward achieving your goals during our sessions.
  • I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), with a focus on mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and other techniques as needed.

Consultations and Second Opinions

60 minutes (3 sessions required for legal proceedings)

  • A comprehensive personal, family medical and psychiatric history, and mental status exams will be conducted. This includes:
    • Outlining your previous and ongoing difficulties, past treatment experiences, social and life circumstances, and goals for continued treatment;
    • Obtaining a comprehensive personal, family medical, and psychiatric history;
    • Utilizing appropriate psychological tests if needed;
    • Identifying possible diagnoses; and
      Reviewing different treatment options.
  • Specific treatment recommendations will be provided which may include psychotherapy and/or medications.
  • Additional information from previous providers, family members, etc. may be requested, ONLY with your signed consent.
  • A consultation report is written and made available to your referring physician, ONLY with your signed consent.

Clinical Supervision for Mental Health Counselors

Supervision is provided to students-in-training or counselors operating under a Limited Permit in New York State

45 minutes

  • Weekly, biweekly, monthly or as needed
  • Meet and clarify your supervision needs.
  • Develop diagnostic abilities, skills, ability to understand and conceptualize your client
  • Personal development and self-care
